As inscrições para o Open Escolar de Handebol estão abertas, e seguem até o dia 05 de junho, totalmente pela internet. A competição será disputada nas categorias sub-14 e sub-18 entre os dias 27 e 29 de junho, em Cruzeiro do Sul. O evento tem a parceria da Secretaria Extraordinária de Esporte e Lazer (SEEL) e o financiamento é do Programa de Apoio às Federações (PAF). A Liga Cruzeirense de Handebol (LCH) é parceira técnica da competição.
Segundo a Coordenação Técnica da Federação Acreana de Desporto Escolar (FADE), a competição poderá servir como seletiva estadual para o Campeonato Brasileiro Escolar de Handebol, caso este venha a ser realizado pela Confederação Brasileira do Desporto Escolar (CBDE). A princípio, outra etapa será realizada em Rio Branco, caso haja espaço no calendário.
As inscrições para a o Open de Handebol são gratuitas, mas o evento é fechado para estudantes-atletas filiados à FADE. O técnico da equipe também precisa estar filiado à federação.
